Welcome!

Fleet 5 is an energetic group of Catalina 36 owners. We have several non-Catalina owners who participate as associate members. Each member of our fleet thrives on the camaraderie of the sailing lifestyle. We are dedicated cruisers, occasional racers, handymen and handywomen. Members of Fleet 5 are ready to lend advice and a hand with any boat topic. We share the knowledge of our improvements and our repairs.

Fleet 5 is affiliated with the Catalina 36 International Association and supports all of its activities. We believe that sailing associations such as our Fleet and the various international associations enhance the sailing experience through shared experiences and the free exchange of ideas. Organizations such as Fleet 5, aside from their social and practical value, help us communicate with the larger sailing community. This opens us to sailors all over the world and with this comes the sharing of knowledge, the communication of sailing experiences, voyages and stories.

We welcome all sailors in the Long Island area as members. All we ask is a love of sailing and a desire to share adventures with like-minded people. (A good hors d'oeuvres cook book is a plus, as we are equally well known for our ability to "socialize")

For details on the benefits of membership beyond being part of a great group check out our brochure.

Fleet 5 supports this program and hosts a member sailing day each year. This is an AMAZING experience for the able bodied sailor to share a day with the challenged sailor. Please click here to read more on this subject.

Our new Calendar is posted! Check out the events planned for 2012.

Bermuda Cruising Rally
Anyone interested in participating in the 2012 Bermuda Cruising Rally http://bermudacruisingrally.com/ please contact Richard Toth at 201-394-7869.

This is an organized rally not a race. It departs from Greenport, N.Y. mid June, spends approximately 5-6 days in Bermuda and returns the beginning of July.

All types and sizes of sailing vessels have successfully completed this passage in all seasons. However, a well-found vessel of 35 feet overall, carrying an experienced crew of four or five persons, should be adequate for a normal ocean passage.

This will be the ideal passage for those of you wishing to gain off-shore experience and visit Bermuda with an organized group.

Own a Catalina, we would love for you to be a part of our group. Please contact Tom Lanzilli our Captain.

A new supply of Fleet 5 burgee's just arrived. Replace your old worn or torn burgee now. Get a new one for $35.00 each. Feel free to contact Richard Toth
