Ingredients
Part 1: 1/4 cup sugar, 2 tsp salt, 2tbsp butter or shortening,

Preparation
Mix together the ingredients in Part 1. Mix together the
ingredients in part 2. When Part 1 cools, mix it with part
2 (Not too hot or the yeast won't rise). Mix in the 6 1/2
cups flour Knead into a ball and place in a greased bowl.
Punch down after 10 minutes. Repeat the process 5 times.
Divide the dough into two balls and let it rest 10 minutes.
Roll or pat the dough down into 1/2 inch thick rectangles
and then roll up like a jelly roll. Seal the ends and seams.
I place the loaves side by side in a 9"x13" pan
or they can be placed on a greased cookie sheet. With a
sharp knife, score 4 diagonal slices across the top of each
bread. Let rise until double or close to double. Bake at
400 degrees for thirty minutes.

I categorized this as breakfast but it can be used at every
meal. This is a great recipe to prepare while cruising.
I use one bread and keep the other refrigerated since the
bread contains no preservatives. Bring the bread as your
contribution to a sun-downer. Make it with white flour,
slice it open while warm and place pats of butter inside
to melt. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Wrap in foil
and bring to the party.
