This will accommodate those wishing
to attend the New London Tall Ship Festival.
The outbound destination
will be Edgartown - we're planning to stay there for three
nights. Other ports of call are as follows: Stonington,
Block Island, Cuttyhunk, Edgartown, New Bedford, Newport
/ Jamestown, Watch Hill and Mystic Seaport
The Tall Ship Festival
is currently scheduled for July 6-9 but fleet members
should be aware that New London officials are still working
out details - things may change. For those wishing to
attend, accommodations will be critical! Officials expect
300,000 visitors and if only 1% show up by boat, there
will be about 1500 boats looking for a place to stay.
New London city moorings are probably the best place but
they are not accepting reservation at this time - and
they don't have a firm date when they will start.
Two marinas that
are at least establishing a wait list at this time are
Thamesport Marina (1 860 437-7022) and Crockers Boatyard
(1 860 443-6304)
Of course, there
are many other possibilities but fleet members should
not wait to reserve accommodations if they plan to attend
this event by boat.

Registration for the summer cruise
this year will cost $40 per boat for Fleet 5 members and their
crew.
Each boat will received two cruise tee
shirts and a Captains package courtesy of our sponsors. Additional
tee shirts are available for $20.00 each.
Non
members should contact us if they are interested in cruising with
Fleet 5.
